ADOPTION PROCESS

Adopting from us is a rewarding experience, and we strive to ensure both the rescue animal and their new family are a perfect match.

We ask for a 5€ donation with each adoption application to ensure that applicants are serious and committed to the process.

If your application is successful, you have the option to request that the 5€ be deducted from your final adoption donation, or you can choose to leave it in our rescue fund to support the ongoing care and rescue of other animals.

This small contribution helps us prioritise dedicated adopters while also providing valuable resources to continue our mission of helping pets in need.

Your donation, no matter the choice, makes a difference

When adopting a pet, it's important to consider both the animal’s age and your own, as well as what will happen to the pet if something happens to you.

Younger animals, such as puppies or kittens, require significant time, energy, and training, making them more suitable for adopters who have the energy and long-term commitment.

Older pets, while calmer and often trained, may be a better fit for older or less active individuals.

However, if you're older or have health concerns, it’s crucial to have a plan in place for your pet's future care in case you can no longer care for them.

Discussing with family members or friends who can take responsibility for your pet ensures their well-being, providing peace of mind for both you and your furry companion.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to our adoption process, which includes home checks and other important steps to ensure the best outcome for all.

1. Browse Available Rescues
Begin by exploring the profiles of our available dogs and cats on our adoption pages. Each profile includes details about the animal's temperament, health, and any specific care needs. Take your time to find a pet that suits your lifestyle.

2. Submit an Adoption Application
Once you've found a pet you'd like to adopt, fill out an adoption application. This form helps us understand more about your home environment, lifestyle, and experience with pets. Please provide as much detail as possible to help us make an informed match.

3. Phone Call
After reviewing your application, we will schedule a phone call to discuss the rescue you're interested in. We will ask about your daily routine, living arrangements, and any other pets you may have. This helps us ensure that the rescue's needs align with your home environment.

4. Home Visit/Check
A home visit is required before the adoption is finalised. One of our team will schedule a convenient time to visit your home, either in person or virtually. During the visit, we check for a safe, pet-friendly environment. We’ll also offer advice on how to prepare your home, ensuring your new pet will have everything they need for a happy life with you.

5. Adoption Approval
Once the home check is successfully completed and all parties are confident that the pet will thrive in your home, we will approve your adoption application.

6. Adoption Fee & Agreement
After approval, you'll be asked to pay the adoption fee, which helps cover medical and care costs. You will also sign an adoption agreement outlining the responsibilities of being a pet owner, ensuring the pet’s well-being and care for their lifetime.

7. Finalising the Adoption
Once the agreement is signed and the fee is paid, the adoption is finalised. You can take your new pet home or transport can be arranged. We will provide any relevant medical records, vaccination history and passports.

8. Ongoing Support
Our support doesn’t end after adoption. If any challenges arise, feel free to reach out to us for advice, and we will do our best to assist.

By following this thorough process, we ensure each rescue finds a loving, secure home and that adopters feel confident in their new role as pet owners.

We’re thrilled that you're considering giving one of our rescue animals a loving forever home. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to be part of a caring family.

However, before you proceed with adoption, it's important to consider the ongoing financial responsibilities of welcoming a rescue animal into your life.

As a charity, we do not 'charge' for our animals, but we kindly ask for a donation to help offset some of the costs involved in rescuing and caring for them. Each animals daily care, including food and utilities.

Our costs for food and utilities, are before veterinary expenses such as check-ups, vaccinations, microchipping, passports, sterilisation, and treatments for worms, ticks, and fleas.

We ask that you keep these ongoing commitments in mind when considering adoption.
